Thanksgiving 2018

I am grateful everyday but on this day, I do like to ponder longer about the things I am most grateful for.

On Thanksgiving day, I woke up to the most delicious smell of pancakes that my husband made. As I sat at the table, pouring an indecent amount of maple syrup on the "everything is organic" pancakes, he tells me that there is a full course ahead through out the day! I think to myself, I'm not sure what I did to deserve all this, or maybe I didn't, this is just his love because he is like that!

Leading up to the holidays, my first Thanksgiving order came from a senior gentleman who I love chatting with, he was also my first returning customer that was not my friend, LOL. He returned the white ceramic vase from the first floral arrangement he bought from me and asked me if I could do a Thanksgiving arrangement in it. I was thrilled that he loved my work enough to return! I love customers who bring their own vases or the old ones, I love recycling vases or working with their favorite ones, especially the ones that have a special meaning, it makes the whole arrangement that much more special! The same day, I made 6 arrangements for a lady who brought her own vases as well, one of them was from her mother. she told me what color her table linens were and she told me to "Have fun with it!" Isn't that the best customer? And once she saw the flowers, she told me the best compliment ever! "I can tell you love what you do."

A new customer placed an order through the website, and since this was the first ever online order, of course I was thrilled and glad to know it was working! She wanted to send a "Gratitude" floral arrangement to her mother in law in an adult care home. I was so touched by her kind gesture and a warm hearted message, I was so honored to do this for her and her family! I called her both before and after the delivery. The one after the delivery was to let her know her mother in law was in good spirits and enjoying her breakfast when the flowers arrived and how she was delighted to hear who they were from when I passed the hand written note card. If I ever complain about my job in the future, someone please remind me of this moment. I love what I do!

Another new customer brought her plate and napkins and asked me to work on a floral arrangement to go along with her Thanksgiving table setting. I love working with a client like this, the creativity gets more personal and I love to offer ideas and creative solutions! I created a low centerpiece with colors to give a nice contrast to the table and added yellow accent flowers to pick up on the colors of the plates and napkins. I used small apples and gourds in the arrangement so I also gave her three small apples that she could place on the table around the centerpiece to complete the look! I put three small apples and flower food in a cute little burlap bag for her. I wrote a little note, "Happy Thanksgiving!" and tied it around the bag. I am enjoying every moment of this new chapter  in my life, it is filled with everything I hoped for. All the paths that I took on, they all lead me here, to be here and to do and cherish this moment.

I had the Thanksgiving day off and I spent most of the day hanging around my daughter, and also being fed through out the day by my husband. He takes such good care of us. My daughter Kawa loves to play with my hair and grab my nose and I love being next to her. She has beautiful long hair now. She is growing up to be a beautiful teenage girl but still has a baby face and will always be my baby! I am so grateful. For my family, for everything in my life right now. For little moments like this, smelling wonderful turkey dinner in the oven, warm light in the living room while it's raining outside and Kawa being cute next to me. I didn't earn anything, I don't deserve and I am not entitled to anything but this is grace from the Lord. And His grace is always sufficient for me. This is His love for me. I am most grateful for His love.
