Celebration of Love 2019

I have some awesome Valentine stories to share! One lady wanted to send flowers to both her own parents and her daughter for Valentines. I thought that was the sweetest gesture! Personally I don't think I ever did anything special for my own parents on Valentines day so this had really touched my heart and inspired me to do something about it! My parents are in Seoul, Korea so sometimes I wish we lived closer, then I could share my flowers with them. In the back corner of my mind, I planned on doing something even if the valentine day has passed well over. It's not just that day to celebrate love, it is every day, isn't it? The day is there just to remind us.

Most people placed their orders well in advance and I paid special attention to those. They planned ahead and so I did have more time to prepare. I was able to secure some of the exotic flowers in time. Many guys had started to place orders to be sent to the love of their lives! One husband had the best message, he said he was blessed to be her husband and that he loved her and was happy to spend everyday with her. My heart melted. I think this is the best part of this job, I am surrounded by beauty and love all day and every day! I love it whenever recipients bring their hands to their chest when they see my flowers coming their way. I see big smiles and I know that my flowers just brightened their day a little bit! I don't think I can ever give up delivery, lol! I also know the feeling when your husband sends you flowers at work, you are quite the envy of the office. People come and adore your flowers but secretly they are adoring your husband's good taste. And strategically this surprise gift for her needs to happen on the morning of the Valentine's day and not in the late afternoon when everybody is getting to leave. Running a small boutique flower shop has allowed me to pay attention to details and manage things on a more personal level which I take great enjoyment in. I hope this never changes.

Back to my planning for doing something for my own parents, I knew I wanted to send my mom, her favorite coffee from Portland. I decided that I was going to do it! Went to the market and got the coffee, put them in a package, then took the box to the post office ( this is the hardest part) and sent the parcel to Korea. Done! With a love note inside of course! Thank you my customers, you have truly inspired me this season, there is still so much love in this world! I learn more about expressing love doing this work. It's more than just work, its more of a way of life is what I am slowly beginning to understand.
